The AE66 is a premium headphone designed for the education environment that is currently for sale through the Education division of AVID Products, Inc.

The product is loosely based on an existing design which was not suitable for production prior to my work with the unit. I executed a robust audio, mechanical, and form review for which I designed all tests and methods. The review uncovered several opportunities for improvement and many more mechanical issues that required immediate attention. Among other lesser concerns, ultimately the headband hinge mechanism and the inline microphone were reengineered to address quality concerns while the speaker element and mounting arrangement were also modified and redesigned to better meet the manufacturing specifications which I wrote in collaboration with AVID's production partner.
